CFP Announcement

I am happy to announce that I have earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation.

Earning the CFP® designation signifies that an advisor has completed a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum covering 72 Principal Knowledge Topics under the categories of Investment Planning, Tax Planning, Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, Insurance Planning, Financial Management, and Education Planning.

The CFP Board requires such a rigorous education to make sure CFP® certificates can provide comprehensive, goals-based planning. Earning the mark is a highlight in any financial planner’s career.

To earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, candidates must complete what the Board of Standards refers to as the “4 E’s”:

  • Education
  • Examination
  • Experience
  • Ethics

In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree, completing a board-certified education program, passing the exam, and adhering to a strict code of ethics, candidates must also have completed three years of relevant work experience in an industry-related field.

With the highly respected CFP® mark, I will expand the services my firm offers by deepening the comprehensive nature of the financial planning and investment management services my firm provides.

What Is Financial Planning?

Financial planning is the process of meeting your life goals through the proper management of your finances. Life goals can include, among many things, saving for higher education, planning for retirement, properly planning your estate, or prudently managing your income tax situation.

The financial planning process takes a “big picture” look at where you are financially, enabling you to work out where you are now, what you may need in the future and what you must do to reach your goals.

The process involves gathering relevant financial information, setting life goals, examining your current financial status and coming up with a strategy or plan for how you can meet your goals.

The Benefits Of Financial Planning

Financial planning provides direction and meaning to your financial decisions. It allows you to understand how each financial decision you make affects other areas of your finances. You can also adapt more easily to life changes and feel more secure that your goals are on track for the future.
