Charles Ford has been a practicing attorney (part-time and full-time) for over three decades. He is licensed in the states of Georgia and Michigan. He is experienced in criminal, civil, probate, and family law cases – with a record of success and outstanding client service. While he has worked primarily in private practice, Charles is currently serving as an attorney with the Fulton County, Georgia Public Defenders Office.

Ford was a distinguished graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in his hometown of Lansing, Michigan in 1988.

He also holds a master’s degree in Labor & Industrial Relations from Michigan State University, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Northwood University, and an Associate’s degree from Lansing Community College (LCC).

Along with sterling academic credentials, Charles Ford was quite an accomplished athlete. He was an All-league and All-city selection in football, basketball and track in high school. In 1974, he led the nation’s junior college basketball players in scoring at LCC. In 1997, he was inducted into the Greater Lansing Sports Hall of Fame, where he joins such great local athletes as NBA legend Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson and the Major League baseball Hall of Famer, Atlanta Braves pitcher John Smoltz.

Ford spent many years working as a human-resources executive with the Michigan Department of Transportation…retiring in 2002.

He was a non-partisan, elected member of the Lansing City Council (1990-1994). And served as an elected Public School Board member from 2008 to 2014. Speaking of involvement with education….here in Georgia, Charles Ford has worked with autistic students as an assistant teacher, and an after-school specialist with the Cobb County Public School system.

For fun, Ford loves golf, bike riding, dancing, traveling and volunteering.
