Episode 18 w/ Dr. Rashida Spence

Rashida Ingram, Ph.D., is a Marriage & Family Therapist, Founder & CEO of Innergy Connections, LLC, and The Pennsylvania Institute for Couple and Family Therapy, Research and Supervision virtual wellness centers, and The I AM Retreat Experience, a self-care brand for soft authentic living, she is also a Clinical Consultant and Adjunct Professor. Dr. Ingram is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families understand their “why”, reduce stress and build confidence to create the life they deserve. Dr. Ingram’s approach focuses on self-awareness, core values, personal responsibility and a growth mindset.

Dr. Ingram is an advanced scholar of psychotherapy. She earned her doctorate degree from Antioch University in 2021. Dr. Ingram is formally trained in couple and family systems theories, EMDR, complex grief, and The Gottman Relationship Method. She is also an Approved Supervisor by the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy and has provided clinical supervision to MFT, LPC and MSW Practicum/Internship students, Trainees & Associates for various academic and clinical settings.

Students find Dr. Ingram’s teaching style and philosophy to be existential in nature. It is her intention to facilitate learning through course content, discussions, and self-reflection, while integrating theory and practice. Dr. Ingram’s approach aims to cultivate extraordinary therapists who embody practical and theory-based knowledge through the use of self-awareness and knowledge of common factors for effective therapy practice. In her classroom, Dr.Ingram creates a collaborative, engaging, and thought-provoking learning environment in which students feel supported throughout their development as a therapist.

Dr. Ingram continues to contribute to the field of psychology and couple and family therapy. Most recently, Dr. Ingram wrote a book, I’m So Satisfied: 6 Guiding Principles for Building Relationship Happiness and Fulfillment. The book draws on research and personal experience, r. Ingram presents a strength-based framework for understanding the process of marriage satisfaction.

Dr. Ingram has developed programs and course curriculums for Self-care, How to Charge Premium Fees w/ Social Justice Values, Manifested Living & Goal Setting, Relationship Satisfaction; and Wellness and Wealth Strategies for Creating a Successful Therapy Practice.

Dr. Ingram has been invited to speak, provide training and facilitate several workshops, for The International Family Therapy conference (Zurich, Switzerland), Interpersonal Skills Development workshop series, relationship panel discussions and courses, Coaching vs Therapy training for students of the International Coaching and Leadership Institute, and several self-care workshops and retreats. She has also been featured in radio and podcast interviews and has provided training and consultation to organizations and students devoted to working systemically with couples and families using a strength-based approach.

 

In her free time, Dr. Ingram embraces the soft life. She enjoys spending time with her son and daughter, traveling, watching sloths, dancing off beat, listening to her favorite podcasts, and connecting with family and friends.
